Some leading local businessmen put their contacts and influence to use to raise over £8000 for the Huddersfield Town Youth Academy and Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and also donated their free season ticket allocation to local charities, The Hollybank School and Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice.

Glenn and Curtis Paxman of Brewfitt and Paxman Coolers had committed to support the Pedal 4 Pounds bike ride from Yeovil to Huddersfield raising money for the Huddersfield Town Youth Academy and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  Glenn had the idea of using their company’s trailer to support the riders and Curtis decided to raise additional money for local charities by asking local companies to sponsor the vehicle and trailer.  This was fully designed and supported by Fantastic Media along with the generous contribution of CV Graphics that provided all the livery and application for the support vehicle.

Sponsorship was also supported by Mark Ronan of Ronan Developments and a number of his business contacts, which resulted in over twenty local businesses joining forces to raise funds.

Curtis and Mark endured the 260 miles from Yeovil to Huddersfield in the saddle in some tough and enduring weather conditions, but thoroughly enjoyed the challenge supporting such a good cause.

Glenn offered full support to all the riders ensuring that those who were stranded, injured and had mechanical failure were all up and running or brought home safely.  The Hollybank School and Forget-me-not Trust have the fundraising efforts of these businesses to thank for a number of Huddersfield Town season tickets which will provide severely disabled children and adults and terminally ill children the opportunity to watch the newly promoted Championship team during the 2012 / 13 season.

BrewfittBrewfitt Ltd is delighted to announce that it has won The University of Huddersfield Innovation Award at The 2011 Huddersfield Examiner Business awards.
To win this category Brewfitt demonstrated that it had engaged in the commercialisation of research and development of intellectual property with outstanding results.

Brewfitt’s latest innovation is a combination of its core products CoolTube and 2Flow. Working together, one simple change of the coolant flow rate will change the temperature of a dispense product instantly. Installation is simple, with the smaller coolers allowing for substantial energy savings.

The company also worked with The University of Huddersfield to study the thermo-fluid performance of CoolTube which has lead to product improvements which in turn have led to increased sales.

Brewfitt prides itself on bringing innovative products to the market – reinforcing its reputation in the hospitality, brewing, soft drinks and leisure industries throughout the UK.

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 3rd November at the Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield and was hosted by BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration.

Upon accepting the award, Neil Paxman, owner Glenn’s brother, said: “Thanks must go to my father who originally invented the Ice Bank beer coolers in 1963. We’d like to dedicate this award to him.’’

Managing director Curtis Paxman added: “We are thrilled to have won The University of Huddersfield Innovation Award and be recognised for our achievements. Without the team we have at both Paxman Coolers and Brewfitt we wouldn’t be where we are today.’’

In total the Paxman family won three awards on the night with Brewfitt Ltd’s sister company Paxman Coolers, winning The HSBC International Business of The Year Award for demonstrating an outstanding ability to overcome barriers to promote international sales of its revolutionary hair loss prevention system, which helps thousands of people worldwide to keep their hair and their dignity during chemotherapy.

To complete the hat trick, cousin Eric Paxman won the Britannia Rescue New Business of the Year Award for his restaurant; ‘Eric’s Restaurant’ which opened its doors in Lindley a year ago and has enjoyed amazing success and glowing reviews.

These award wins mark the end of a highly successful year for the entire Paxman family, with 2012 already promising to be a year of great opportunity and continued success.

We attended Brau Beviale 2010 last week in Nuremberg, where we exhibited our products from Celli’s stand.

Brau Beviale attracted more than 34,000 trade visitors with the 1,400 exhibitors presenting new products for the production and marketing of beer and non-alcoholic drinks.

We exhibited our revolutionary 2Flow cooling product – an ultra cool, low cost liquid innovation that replaces water or glycol in a drinks cooling system, in order to provide an extra cold brand specification. It garnered lots of interest from potential customers and helped us to meet new contacts.

A great success all round, we are looking forward to exhibiting there again next year!

Precision Pouring Could Save Pounds!

precise pour

We recently launched Precise Pour, a wireless dispense system which can save pubcos up to £10 per bottle of spirit!

Tests have shown that on average, bars ‘over-pour’ as much as 10cl or 14.3% of a single bottle.

A 70cl bottle provides 28 x 25ml shots and at £2.50 a shot, that equals £10 a bottle in lost revenue.

That means a pub or bar selling 50 bottles a week could be losing £500 a week or £26,000 a year in revenue!

Precise Pour is the first wireless dispense solution designed to give bars the most complete and economical answer to this problem of stock loss from over pouring, giveaways and shrinkage.

It is flexible to allow a ’spouts only’ solution or ‘full control’ with up to 4 programmable sizes (and free pour). It pours exact measures at any angle and there is no need to turn bottles upright between pours!

If required, the wireless connectivity through the master unit allows sales and stock reports on all dispense activity, with printer, PC or POS connectivity.

It is a revolutionary device which will cut waste levels and boost revenue. It allows thousands of servings between battery recharge and speeds up service –  benefiting both customers and businesses!
